everyone but you Now it's obvious. It's as plain as the sun in the sky.
No one ever wanted to talk to you at parties, everyone rolls their eyes when you try
the new shoes everyone's wearing, and if you stopped going out at all, no one would
notice. You could never keep up in class, you always got glue on everything and
your lines were never clean. And ever since the first school dance it's been setting
you further and further to the side. You don't belong, and this life was meant for
everyone else. Everyone else will find someone and be happy and even casual about
it. But you were never good enough. So you can't sleep without the TV
on. The silence is thunderous. At best, your life -- this empty exercise in
keeping your head above water -- is a bridge to someone who will matter, and who will walk
away from you to join the other kids at the dance.
